Job Description:

The Security Analyst will support the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) activities to ensure compliance with appropriate privacy regulations; evaluate and monitor privacy policies, procedures, and processes; and manage the risks of privacy.

Position Responsibilities: Plans, develops, coordinates, and establishes operating methods and procedures for accomplishment of privacy mission and implements the privacy program objectives to ensure guidance and procedures comply with all applicable Federal privacy legislation, regulations, and OMB guidance. Meets with managers and senior analysts within the Service to articulate and assist in meeting the overall goals and objectives of the privacy program. Provides guidance and advice on Privacy Act and laws ensuring compliance in these areas. Develop and maintain lessons learned, FAQ, SOP, and training support documents for the Privacy Program. Maintain, format, and input system status records for compliance reporting. Collaborate with team to provide VA with a specialized privacy assessment templates to examine cloud usage and emerging technologies. Work with the system team using Decision Flowchart when a system in development is soliciting highly sensitive PII/PHI such as medical diagnosis, and SSN, that the individual will provide the data directly or indirectly, and the system is intended to be utilized by the public.

Great Organizer Problem Solving Analytical Abilities Team Player Qualifications: A bachelor's degree in engineering, or a related scientific or technical discipline is required. Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) certification or Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA) or Information System Security Certification Consortium (ISC2) required. Minimum of 4 years' relevant experience Must have strong written and verbal communication skills. Working knowledge of NIST SP 800-171 and NIST SP 800-53 Experience documenting processes and procedures to comply with required NIST and IT standards. Knowledge of different sensitive data types, including PII, PHI, including non-identifiable and identifiable Critical thinking skills, attention to detail, and resourcefulness Knowledge of the Privacy Act of 1974
Ability to analysis and research of complex problems, and processes relating to the subject matter Proactive and ability to work independently. Experience working in VA or other Government agency. Must be able to obtain Public Trust clearance. Why Join Sierra7?
