Cleveland Brothers Equipment Co., Inc., your local Caterpillar dealership, is looking for a highly motivated self-starter to join our growing team of established and successful professionals.

Position Summary:
Maximizes the recovery of warranty expense through the accurate and timely submission of warranty claims to positively affect the company's bottom line. Interfaces with Parts, Sales, Service and Systems to ensure all departments are aware of warranty requirements and their responsibilities. Develops and implements training programs for service clerks and foremen to facilitate the accurate submission of warranty work orders by the service departments.

Primary Responsibilities:
complete warranty claims in all required formats to ensure maximum returns; process authorization documents for claims outside of warranty; research parts information based on computer and document files; instruct service departments in the use of computer information systems and guides; substitute in for other positions as needed; and perform other functions as assigned by necessity. Review, approve or deny work orders of the sales/service departments for claim viability, research warranty coverage to include repeat failures through the Caterpillar DBS system. Utilize Caterpillar warranty guides, Allied vendor guides, parts books, and Caterpillar literature through on-line programs and the Caterpillar SIS, SIMS and Warranty menus. Possess ability to extract failure analysis from service reports and job closing summaries to assure maximum dollar recovery on all claims. Develop and implement warranty training for Service departments. Work with Sales, Parts and Service departments to provide solutions to interdepartmental challenges affecting the smooth operation of the company. Interface with other departments, as necessary, to ensure the continued operation of warranty related information in DBS. Develop, prioritize and complete special projects as needed.
Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications:
Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the process and the practices and procedures that are required to have claims honored. Possess a thorough knowledge of the components and terminology used in the heavy equipment industry. Considerable talents in the interpretation and applications of technical writing related to warranties and mechanical layouts; proven ability to write technically sound claims using proper grammar; strong communication skills; and ability to communicate in writing or via personal computer to the manufacturer. Ability to problem solve non-allowed claims with internal management/supervisory personnel as well as Caterpillar/Allied Product Analyst for resubmission and supplemental payment.
