LMI is seeking a skilled Data Scientist at our headquarters office in Tysons, VA (telework allowed). Successful LMI Data Scientist demonstrate competency in building data analytics processes in multiple frameworks such as Modeling and Simulation (M&S) environments, and AI/ML algorithms, and communicating analysis results through informative reports, graphics, and visualizations. In addition, LMI Data Scientists have demonstrated experience in collaborating with other Data Scientist and with effective communication with clients.
Responsibilities
You will develop high end analytics and insight in support of our client's mission to support logistics and supply chain processes for the Department of Defense (DoD). Representative responsibilities: Collaborate with an integrated team of LMI Data Scientists to analyze, integrate, and transform large sets of data into simplified, meaningful, and actionable trends and visualizations. Build models using ML, rule-based, or traditional statistical methods. Contribute to the development and maintenance of LMI's logistics and supply simulation model. Use data analytics to develop, populate, and analyze results of simulations and algorithms. Understand business problems and opportunities in the context of the requirements and recommend solutions that enable achievement of reporting goals.Qualifications
Required: 3+ years of experience with C++ and Python coding languages Proficient knowledge with Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) techniques. Experience with version control software such as GIT. Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, data science, operations research, physics, mathematics, or a related discipline required. Self-starter with the vision to independently identify opportunities for improvement through data analytics. A true team player who maintains a positive attitude in a dynamic environment. Demonstrated ability to understand technical concepts and structure research that simplify these concepts. Current DoD Clearance.Desired: 5+ years of experience with C++ and Python coding languages Experience with supply chain or logistics modeling Master's Degree preferred
