What You Will Do

Come join our team! This entry-level position resides in the Institutional Quality (IQPA-IQ) group and reports to the IQPA-IQ Receipt Inspection and Verifications Leader. The selected candidate's primary responsibility will be to ensure product quality through performance of receipt inspections. These receipt inspections require planning, performing, and reporting/presenting of results. Receipt inspections are performed in accordance with customer specified criteria and in accordance with nuclear facility (NQA-1) and weapons related (DOE/NNSA NAP-24) requirements in order to ensure that specified technical and quality requirements are met.

Other duties will include; Providing assistance to LANL customer organizations on quality assurance issues and activities, and supporting the supply chain quality programs e.g., receipt inspection, suspect/counterfeit, and supplier evaluation.

What You Need

Minimum Job Requirements:

Basic knowledge and experience of 10 CFR 830 Subpart A, DOE Order 414.1D, national consensus standard ASME NQA-1-2008/ASME NQA-1a-2009 Addenda, NAP-401.1, and U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Regulatory Guide Series or equivalent.Basic knowledge and experience with quality concepts and principles and how these are applied.Experience with inspection principles and practices.Experience in performing detailed reviews of quality documentation to ensure compliance with customer and regulatory defined requirements.Strong oral and written communication skills and demonstrated experience interacting and effectively communicating with all levels of customers and management.Experience in preparing and presenting quality assurance reports.Experienced in effective decision-making and risk management regarding complex technical issues.
Education/Experience: Position requires an Associate's Degree in a relevant field or combination of technical certification and 2 years of related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation.

Desired Qualifications:

Experience in the preparation of QA procedures for review, approval, and issues in accordance with requirements and/or standards.Previous experience in an inspector role or as a qualified receipt inspector.Experience leading and supporting quality assessments, surveillances, and/or audits.

Work Location: The work location for this position is onsite and located in Los Alamos, NM. All work locations are at the discretion of management.

Position Commitment: Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position in order to be eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory. Directive 206.2 - Employment with Triad requires a favorable decision by NNSA indicating employee is suitable under NNSA Supplemental Directive 206.2. Please note that this requirement applies only to citizens of the United States. Foreign nationals are subject to a similar requirement under DOE Order 142.3A.

Clearance: Q (Position will be cleared to this level). Selected applicants will be subject to a background investigation conducted by or on behalf of the Federal Government, and must meet eligibility requirements* for access to classified matter. This position requires a Q clearance. and obtaining such clearance requires US Citizenship except in extremely rare circumstances. Dependent upon the position, additional authorization to access classified information may be required, which may or may not be available to dual citizens. Receipt of a Q clearance and additional access authorization ultimately is a decision of the Federal Government and not of Triad.

*Eligibility requirements: To obtain a clearance, an individual must be at least 18 years of age; U.S. citizenship is required except in very limited circumstances. See DOE Order 472.2 for additional information.

New-Employment Drug Test: The Laboratory requires successful applicants to complete a new-employment drug test and maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing. Although New Mexico and other states have legalized the use of marijuana, use and possession of marijuana remain illegal under federal law. A positive drug test for marijuana will result in termination of employment, even if the use was pre-offer.

Regular position: Term status Laboratory employees applying for regular-status positions are converted to regular status.

Internal Applicants: Regular appointment employees who have served the required period of continuous service in their current position are eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory. If an employee has not served the required period of continuous service, they may only apply for Laboratory jobs with the documented approval of their Division Leader.
