Job Description:

TRISTAR is seeking a Software Support & Sustainment Specialist for our upcoming government customer. This is position is 100% Remote.We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Software Support & Sustainment Specialist to support the efficient management, testing, and operation of future software development projectsThis role will provide technical expertise and guidance on the operation, maintenance, and integration of system enhancements within mission-critical environmentsThe successful candidate will collaborate closely with military personnel, engineers, and other key stakeholders to ensure the system's effectiveness and contribute to the overall success of mission-critical operationsPosition Responsibilities:Technical Expertise & Support: Provide advanced technical support on the operation, maintenance, and integration of air C2 (Command and Control) systems, ensuring efficient system performance and resolving issues in a timely mannerCollaboration & Stakeholder Engagement: Work alongside military personnel, engineers, and various stakeholders to ensure the C2 systems meet mission-critical requirements. Act as a liaison to resolve challenges and streamline project workflowsTask Monitoring & Management: Regularly monitor the progress of C2 systems tasks and operational enhancements through a ticketing system. Ensure that updates and task tracking are completed on time, addressing bottlenecks that may impact progressDocumentation & Traceability: Maintain thorough documentation for all critical system configuration updates, operational decisions, and discussions from meetings. Ensure that all decisions related to air C2 systems and business logic are accurately recorded, with traceability for future referenceMeeting Documentation: Capture and document key decisions, action items, and discussion points from project meetings. Prepare materials to support ad-hoc and recurring data calls, ensuring timely data collection, formatting, and dissemination through appropriate communication channelsPresentation & Briefing Preparation: Assist in the creation of presentations, briefing materials, and other documents to effectively communicate project updates to stakeholdersSustainment & Documentation Creation: Lead the creation and maintenance of comprehensive software sustainment documentationHelp Documentation: User manuals, FAQs, and guides for end-users to navigate software features and troubleshoot common issuesInstallation Instructions: Detailed step-by-step installation guides for system administrators and maintainersTroubleshooting Guides: Documentation to assist in diagnosing and resolving software issuesSoftware Updates: Document patching procedures and updates when new releases are distributedTier 3 Help Desk Support: Provide escalated support to the help desk by diagnosing and troubleshooting software defects. Communicate clearly with stakeholders and development teams regarding potential software defects, including expected behavior, observed behavior, steps to replicate, and impactRequirementsExperience: 5+ years of experience in software support, sustainment, or system integration, preferably within a military or mission-critical environmentTechnical Expertise: Strong understanding of C2 systems, software development lifecycle, and integration processes.Documentation Skills: Ability to create detailed, clear, and comprehensive technical documentation (user manuals, troubleshooting guides, installation instructions, etc.)Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to prepare and present technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholdersProblem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex software issues, identify root causes, and recommend solutionsCollaboration: Proven ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including military personnel, engineers, and other stakeholdersExperience with air C2 systems or similar defense-related software systemsExperience in preparing and conducting briefings, presentations, and reports for senior leadershipPrior experience with software sustainment and version controlMust be willing to travel from 20%-30% inside USMust be a US CitizenAn Active Secret Clearance is required or the ability to obtain oneEducation and Certification:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or similar areaMust have or be able to obtain a CompTIA Security Plus certification prior to start dateAbout TRISTAR
